O evento não só inicia a exposição, como também arrecada fundos para o Instituto de Figurinos do Museu Metropolitano de Arte. O curador da mostra, Andrew Bolton, coletou cerca de 40 vestes e acessórios da Igreja Católica que nunca tinham saído da Cidade do Vaticano. As peças estão expostas ao lado de vestidos de alta costura e isto já causou certa polêmica. Este é um ótimo programa para quem estiver em Nova York nos próximos meses – a exposição vai até o dia 8 de outubro.
The event is not only beginning of the exhibition, but also raises money for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The curator, Andrew Bolton, collected about 40 clothes and accessories from the Catholic Church that had never left Vatican City. The pieces are exposed alongside haute couture gowns and this has already caused some controversy. This is a great opportunity for anyone in New York City in the coming months – the exhibit runs until October 8.
