Entre todas as tendências dos anos 2000, a calça de cintura baixa foi uma que eu imaginei que não fosse voltar. Mas, marcas como a Tommy Hilfiger, desfilaram seus modelos por aí.
Among all trends from the 2000s, low-rise jeans were ones that I imagined would never make a come back. However, brands like Tommy Hilfiger, paraded their styles out there.

No início dos anos 2000, a calça de cintura baixa era uma febre. Pessoas de todos os estilos – como Britney Spears, Keira Knightly e Blake Lively – usavam e ela “transitava” do tapete vermelho à shows. A combinação mais vista era com uma blusa cropped para deixar a barriga inteira de fora. Naquela época, o cós era baixo MESMO e isto tornava a calça bem desconfortável. Além disto, na minha opinião, o corpo ficava um pouco esquisito também. Por estes motivos, nunca imaginei que fossem dar vida ao modelo novamente.
In the early 2000s, low-waist jeans were everywhere. People with all styles – like Britney Spears, Keira Knightly and Blake Lively – wore and it could be seen from the red carpet to the concerts. The most worn combination was with a cropped top and it exposed the entire belly. At that time, the waistband was EXTREMELY low and this made the pants very uncomfortable. Besides, in my opinion, it made the body look a bit weird too. For these reasons, I never imagined that the hip-hugging jeans would have a revival.

Eis que chega 2017 – ano em que várias tendências polêmicas voltaram – e muitos estilistas decidiram desfilar calças de cintura baixa. E, para completar, com a barriga à mostra – exatamente como era nos anos 2000.

A tendência poderia ter ficado apenas nas passarelas. Porém, as Instamodels – como Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner e Emily Ratajkowski – gostaram deste modelo e popularizaram a cintura baixa. Até a Victoria Beckham entrou na onda, mas preferiu ser mais discreta e não mostrar a barriga. Não sou muito fã e nem sei se a moda vai realmente pegar, mas o que vocês acham da cintura baixa? The trend could have just been on the runways. However, Instamodels – like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski – feel in love with the style and popularized the low-waist. Even Victoria Beckham got into the mood, but preferred to be more discreet and not show her belly.
