Cartagena is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, but the sand and water have dark shades. If you want to see a true paradise it’s necessary to go to Islas del Rosario. And the trip is worth it!
Para onde ir? (Where to go?)
Eu queria um passeio mais exclusivo, por isso decidi passar o dia no hotel San Pedro de Majagua. Ele fica localizado na Isla Grande, a maior de todas do arquipélago.
I wanted a more exclusive experience, so I decided to spend the day at a hotel called San Pedro de Majagua. It is located on Isla Grande, the biggest island of the archipelago.
Como chegar? (How to get there?)
Obviamente, é necessário pegar um barco e a ilha fica cerca de uma hora de Cartagena. O barco é do próprio hotel e sai da Marina Santa Cruz às 9 da manhã. A volta é sempre entre 14h30 e 15h30 – depende de como estiver a maré. Dizem que é sempre melhor sentar do lado direito, pois molha menos. Eu segui isso e não pingou sequer uma gota d’água em mim.
Obviously, you have to take a boat ride – which lasts about an hour – to get to the island. The boat belongs to the hotel and it departs from the Santa Cruz wharf at 9AM. The trip back to Cartagena is between 2:30PM and 3:30PM – depending on the sea tide. People say that it’s best to sit on the boat’s right side, because you don’t get too wet. I followed that and didn’t feel a drop of water.
O que fazer? (What to do?)
Tomar sol e nadar no mar não são as únicas atividades que existem lá. Você também pode praticar stand-up paddle, fazer mergulho, massagens, dentre outras coisas.
Sunbathing and swimming aren’t the only activities to do there. You can also practice stand-up paddle, dive, get a massage, among other things.
Quanto custa? (How much does it cost?)
Escolhi o plano mais simples, que inclui transporte de ida e volta e o almoço. Ele custa 196.000 pesos colombianos – algo em torno de 196 reais.
I chose the simpler plan, which includes roundtrip transportation and lunch. It costs 196,000 Colombian pesos – around 70 dollars.
